I get this feeling you didn't like the fact that Shikamaru used to like Ino. But thank goodness he's interested in someone who's down to Earth. I don't care for Temari that much, though. >.>
are you saying this to me? because I didn't get if it said directly to me anyway. I have enver thought about it *swaetdrop* I didn't even notice he liked her :P but I wouldn't mind if there was something like that ^^

Did you know Hinata portrayed an ideal Yamato Nadeshiko? :P I mean, we all know Hinata's the type to be the traditional Japanese girl compared to Sakura who's the modern type, likewise with Sasuke and Naruto.
But I had no idea the Japanese even had a term for Hinata's character. And it kinda makes sense with Sasuke's character and his clan. ^^
Yamato Nadeshiko (大和撫子, Yamato Nadeshiko?) is referred to by Japanese as a woman with attributes that were considered traditionally desirable from the perspective of a male dominated society; generally ascribed to people with traditional upbringings. It is an extremely broad, but complicated Japanese aesthetic concept. The name is believed to originate from the willowy Dianthus superbus or the Japanese Nadeshiko flower.
Kenkyūsha's New Japanese-English Dictionary (5th ed., 2003) translates Yamato-nadeshiko: "a Japanese woman (with all the traditional graces); an ideal Japanese woman." Daijirin (3rd ed., 2006) defines it: "1 ナデシコの別名。2 日本女性の清楚な美しさをほめていう語。", "1. another name for Dianthus superbus. 2. A figure of speech for the beauty of Japanese women who are neat and tidy."
Also known as an ideal Japanese woman, it basically revolves around acting for the benefit of the family and following instructions or acting in the best interest of patriarchal authority figures. Virtues include: loyalty, domestic ability, wisdom, and humility.
During World War II, the idea of Yamato Nadeshiko was popularized as a kind of national propaganda by the Japanese government. A Yamato Nadeshiko should be able to endure all the pain and poverty of life for her husband (a soldier) and the country, and should always be ready to fight with naginata or tae yari and to be ready to die at any time, for her country or to keep her chastity.

Esra: And yes, it was implied by Chouji himself during the Chuunin Exams that Shikamaru liked Ino, but she never noticed because of Sasuke. It was an internal thought. Poor Shikamaru...
But like I predict, Ino could have good chemistry with Chouji and Shikamaru's better off with Temari. Heh heh... :P

it's why Hinata is better with Sasuke because of their family back grounds.
I like Shikamaru with Temari better too but also with Kin and Tayuya. I wonder why is Shikamaru always get stuck with girls all the time ^__^

Lucky dog. LOL
Actually, he gets the most aggravating girls, if you ask me. Even though I love the anime Naruto, there are little-to-no girls I actually like. I don't know why, they just don't attract my attention.
Let's see, I don't like bossy, violent, arrogant, sassy, proud, shy, or dense girls. Despite this, though, I could tolerate said girls if they have interesting backgrounds and a certain maturity found from experiencing pain.
My two top girls- Tsunade and Hinata.
Though, I didn't like Tsunade at first when Naruto met her (she completely reeked of haplessness), I loved the pain she went through that shaped her character. Losing her younger brother AND lover was a big blow and that's what convinced me to sympathize with her. Also, even though I'm not crazy about blondes, I love her warm colored eyes. Brown.
How many blondes do you see having brown eyes over blue? So uncommon. Ichigo from BLEACH also has goldenrod hair and brown eyes and I like him, too. ^^
And Hinata... :? Honestly, I didn't even like her and overlooked her role until I've came across this sight. I gotta say now, Thank You everyone who shared to me the backbone of her personality and what made Hinata the lovable character she is today.
Looks-wise, Hinata beats the rest of the girls in my book. I have a thing for blue and green haired chicks and with those unique pearl-colored eyes of hers, Hinata was very pretty. Especially so in the timeskip. I dislike feminine clothes, but I liked the baggy ones she wore. Sporty and comfortable. ^^
Gah, I'm babbling.

Kaji, you said you were a guy right? If so...You're going to laugh, but you actually sounded like Sasuke right here! LOL I'm laughing so hard! I mean I noticed from the beginning that you did have a personality simular to his because you both are very opinionated and dislike loud girls... Omg, excuse me while I laugh some more.
Funny thing is... my friends say I'm the female Sasuke. o_O yeah I know awkward... But hey, at least I'm a girl based on a sexy guy! (Inside joke)
You're not offended by this are you, Kaji? I hope not... I mean shoot, I got friends that go off the deep end when someone tells them they act like Sakura (lol) I hope your not upset...

 MY NIGHTMARE!!!

I'm not insulted, no, it's too hilarious! XP And yes, I'm a guy.
But you, female Sasuke? I'm not really convinced.
Now I understand why I can write Sasuke so well In-Character. I understand him so much it's like we're the same person. XD
Danko Kaji- 08-05-2008
And for the record:
I HATE Sasuke. :sasufight
There. It's official. And I'll NEVER change my mind. :x
However.... understanding the guy is an entirely different story. :doh1
Hah ha! Dancing Sasuke is a dorkus! :sasuchan ROFL

See, the thing is I think it's quite true when my friends call me 'Sasuka', lol. They say I act like Hinata more than anyone. Don't you get it? They said I'm like a female Sasuke and then they say "You act like Hinata!". So yeah...I guess we're both quite in too far... Hinata is the female Sasuke... when you think about.
But then again, I always was convinced the female Sasuke was Temari and the male Hinata was Gaara... weird.
Anyway, but I too believe me being like Hinata is what makes me be able to do stories about her too. Though I can also pull a darn good Temari and Ino fic too!

You know what I always thought? I'm pretty deep in psychology, so this is my theory.
To determine whether or not a boy and girl can grow up to be exactly like each other, imagine them experiencing the same exact pain.
However, despite it all, both the mentality of a male and female contrast, so they turn out differently.
So, if Hinata was a guy, maybe she could've ended up like Sasuke. Vice versa with Sasuke. I'm not going to go as far as pinpoint what traits influenced them to be the type of people they turned out to be today, but it's instinct as a character.
Instinct as a guy, instinct as a girl... The again, how they can be raised is also dependent on hormones and heredity.
To basically sum it down- Hinata and Sasuke are a lot alike. In many aspects.
And maybe the reason why Temari and Sasuke ; Hinata and Gaara are similar in personality is because... well... it's just like that. *scratches head* There will always be people out there in the world who will share the same opinions as you or acts the same way. But who you really are inside is eternally and personally different.
Eh, psychology is sometimes as ambiguous as geometry (note- my least favorite subject rivaling history)... but what can I say? I try...

And I agree with you that Hinata fits the character type perfectly.

Almost all the Naruto girls are kinda clingy and have a certain "temper" aura around them. (Also those hopeless fan-girlsm characteristics) but that just makes Hinata stand out more. She's unique => (apart from the fangirlism..maybe) That's why I kinda like the idea of everyone being like the typical naruto girl, makes Hinata seem like the only one who's quiet. As far as i'm concerned she's the only one who hasn't really scolded a teammate? I'm not sure. Just babbling sorry.
Yamato Nadeshiko ? Hinata is very traditional in my eyes haha.
