Yin Yang is a dual concept of Taoist belief, one that tells of how two opposing but interdependent forces exist in all things in the world, living or non-living. In Naruto, the yin yang symbol, taijitu, may be seen on the divination field of the Hyuga Clan. This field is consisted of the bagua (eight trigrams) surrounding the yin yang symbol. The Clan's fighting style seemed to be based on baguazhang, literally eight trigram palm, one of the three Chinese 'internal' martial arts. The 64 strikes of jyuuken may have been based on the 64 hexagram-combination when both hands do palm changes. Contrary to the damage that may be caused by jyuuken, the baguazhang is considered a healing art and a good exercise of the joints, muscles and internal organs. Yin is characterized by the following: Female, deficient, passive, dark -- descriptions that fit Hinata Season: Winter Element: Water Numbers: Even Hinata: Birth month: December Season: Winter Element: ? Team 8 - 8 is specifically is a minor number of yin Yang is characterized by the following: Male, excessive, active, bright -- descriptions that fit Neji or Sasuke Season: Summer Element: Fire Numbers: Odd Neji and Sasuke: Birth month: July Season: Summer Sasuke: Element: Fire Team 7 - besides being an odd number, 7 specifically is a minor number of yang. There are also major numbers of yin yang: 6 is major yin and 9 is major yang. Hinata was born on December 27 (12 27); Sasuke was born on July (07 23). The sum of these numbers is 69. Itachi was born on June 9 (06 09). It is similar to 69, although not patterned as that of Hinata and Sasuke. Mathematically, 69 is a special number (and it has nothing to do with anything sexual). The Uchiha Clan may also be related to the Taoist principle. The Sharingan is symbolized by the three tomoe (mitsu-domoe), which is considered a triple-way yin yang. In the Legend of Yin and Yang, Yin represented the Moon. Hinata looks like the Moon. Yang represented the Sun. Sasuke's consistant with Yang, ne? What if Hinata was setting out for Sasuke who's the Sun, and as it is always said, Naruto is Sasuke's golden light of hope. Hinata admires Naruto, ne? What if it translates to this: "Hinata sets out for Sasuke, Naruto her beacon."

In China, the first trigram inscriptions were said to have been found on the carapace of a Tortoise. Genbu of the North is believed to be actually a Tortoise and a Snake. On the contrary, Sasuke is completely the opposite: - ability to use fire techniques; - ability to use Amaterasu; - ability to summon a Snake. Confusion and Clarification This theory assumes the actual symbolisms of yin and yang; example, yin is dark while yang is light. However, this can be confusing because based on the cover of manga chapter 78, Hinata (postulated as yin) is light and Neji is dark (postulated as semi-yang). This reversal of colors may possibly pertain to their mindset. As light, Hinata was able to see through Neji's facade and has come to understand his emotional struggles against the Hyuga Main House. As dark, Neji was (then) resentful of his unalterable fate, a belief that was proven wrong by Naruto who he later acknowledged as the one who saved him from the darkness; at that very same time Neji firmly believed that it will be Naruto who will save Sasuke from his own darkness*. "There is someone who can find Sasuke within the darkness and save him from within... Because Naruto, you saved me from the darkness." - Neji, manga chapter 198. *This may also be viewed as another parallelism of Neji and Sasuke, both postulated as yang who ironically have been to/is still in the dark.
