Made in Japan... (about j-drama absolute boyfriend)
When I watched the first episode of this Japanese tv drama it reminded me a movie I watched years ago. Japon İşi (I think I can translate it as "Made in Japan"). There is a man who works in a night club as waiter. He is in love with the singer who works there. But the woman doesn't care about him and even a bit harsh to the guy. She also has a lover who is a mafia man. One day the guy meets a Japanese man in the club. the man gets drunk and waiter takes care of him afterwards. As a thank you the man sends a gift to the waiter after months: A robot version of the woman he loves. At the same time the singer leaves on a holiday all in a sudden to get away from all trouble of the mafia. Anyway the events develops from there. At the end the robot says she loves the man before she kills (or should I say destroy herself). The singer is now in love with him. Japon İşi Significant Names: Kemal Sunal, Fatma Girik, Sümer Tilmaç, Asuman Arsan, Reha Yurdakul, Director: Kartal Tibet Year: 1987 I think the episodes of Absolute Boyfriend is not enough. The story was going slow at the beginnng but when it began to get closer to the final episode it showed development among characters' relationship too sudden. They could make more episodes. Riko's affection for Night is so sudden. They couldn't give the development and change of her feelings for the robot much.

I saw a manga of Absolute Boyfriend but didn't get the chance to buy and read. I have been surfing online to watch j-drama but I can't seem to find something to suit my taste... and age :hanalaugh I did finish Omiai Kekkon (Arranged Marriage) and it was okay. I should catch Hero (for the love that is Takuya Kimura) but I still would prefer a more dramatic-romantic plot because I'm rather corny right now :P

I usually think live-action movies are strange when I already saw the series first in manga or anime but I watched a few live action of some manga series and I thought they were better than the original manga or anime series. I am not going to read the manga of Absolute Boyfriend. I watched the drama ver because it reminded me that movie. I first watched 1 Litre of Tears drama. Then a few others came. Right now I don't know what to watch either. What I noticed these drama series are short. They were usually 11-12 episodes. is it same for all series or there are dramas which continue for years?

Majority of Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese dramas span around those number of episodes more or less (I'm not sure about mainland Chinese ^^). They can have sequels though if ratings are high enough to warrant it.

in a way it is good to have that much episodes because when the series got longer and longer they lost their appeal but on the other hand if there aren't much episodes, usually after a certain chapter they fasten the events in the story and it is not being satisfying because they fell rushed and some points are being left empty. I knew one tv-serie which I remember watching at least for 5 years and it is still going on. before it was comedy and slice of life of a family (a mother and the families of her children) but now it is being aired as a drama at another tv channel.
