If you look at Anime, Manga, Books, Movies, and possibly Video Games - romance in general - do you notice how the main male and female end up together?
Let me list examples --
Ceres Celestial Legend - Toya & Aya
Full Moon o Sagashite - Takuto & Mitsuki
Fushigi Yugi - Tamahome & Miaka
W Juliet - Makoto & Ito
Final Fantasy 8 and 10 - Squall & Rinoa ; Tidus & Yuna
Twilight (Author: Stephenie Meyer) - Edward & Bella
Inuyasha - Inuyasha & Kagome
-ETC.
--And In Every Other Movie, you see whoever the main character is (be it male or female) ends up with the other character of the opposite gender who is mostly focused at within the film.
Believe me, it's everywhere.
So, I'm confident that Sakura will eventually return Naruto's feelings. And I'm not saying this because I want Sasuke and Hinata to pair off. It's because they have great chemistry and care about each other so naturally. Around Sasuke, Sakura always has to 'act' or 'impress' him all the time, which kind of suppresses her true self.

I don't know those characters but FY only and there Miako and Tamahome have something for each other from the beginning haven't they? their feelings were mutual although there were a lot of other guys after Miaka or her friend loved Tamahome also. anyway also this is shojo and usually in shounen ones there are crushes but no real pairing at the end.

Yeah, and isn't love something about being able to act naturally and being accepted for your true self... or something... dunno XD
And Sakura and Naruto act naturally around each other, and they accept each other. And like you said, Sakura had to suppress herself to try and be accepted for something she's not. Same with Hinata with Naruto, but, not as much... Since Hinata's always shy. And most shy people, are like that. But I feel that Hinata tries too much to be accepted by Naruto.
So...yeah...
And why do I keep getting the impression Sasuke is the one for Hinata and vice versa? :roll: :doh1

Sasuke's taking it too easy. And in my suspicion, he's not using the mangekyo(?) sharingan. Have you noticed the 8-Tails is wearing goggles, so Sasuke can't hypnotize him?
InvisibleAciren, I finally realize why we all think Sasuke and Hinata look alike. I mean, Hinata's hair is darker now! And though I hate Sasuke, I always thought he looked the coolest because of his sharp eyes and unique hairstyle.
If you ask me, I think Hinata's become a little more determined in the timeskip. Excluding Naruto, of course, but when she's in the zone and knows what she is doing, Hinata's a force to be reckoned with. I wonder if Sasuke will ever come to experience this...
