Folklore of the 'Tailed Beasts'

I'm not good at interpreting mythology or history so if it's possible one of you guys kinda translate it for me, or if it has any similarities or foreshadowings? :? :) Be nice if someone bothered with this subject slightly unrelated to SasuHina. It might even help predict at how the Naruto plot can unfold.
